Krishak Bandhu Scheme Relaunched

The Chief Minister of West Bengal has Started West Bengal Krishak Bandhu scheme. It began to supply financial assistance to farmers in 2018. Chief Minister Mamta Banerji has now decided to relaunch this scheme. On 17th June 2021, it had been announced that the financial assistance under this scheme is going to be doubled.

Previously farmers wont to get Rs 5000 once a year for land holding of 1 acre or more. Now farmers will get Rs 10000 once a year doubling its benefits. Financial assistance for little and marginal farmers also will be doubled under the WB Krishak Bandhu scheme. Those farmers who have cultivable Land below 1 acre will get Rs 4000 once a year rather than Rs 2,000.

Krishak Bandhu scheme came into influence in 2018 and till Feb 2021, 1500 crore has been distributed for implementation of this project. aside from that if a farmer dies within the regulation of 60 years then under this scheme the farmer is going to be provided a benefit of Rs 200000.

Benefits Of Krishak Bandhu Scheme

There are several benefits of the WB Krishak Bandhu Scheme, benefits are given below:

A life cover insurance of rupees 200000 are going to be given to each beneficiary as per the scheme.
Insurance cover are going to be provided to all or any of the farmers who die accidentally within the process of implementation of the scheme.
The crop cover Insurance of rupees 5000 are going to be given in two installments to the beneficiaries.
A 3 thousand crores rupees budget is set for the implementation of this scheme.
Insurance cover are going to be provided in between 15 days after the death of the victim.
The premium for Crop Insurance also will be provided by the government to all or any of the beneficiaries under the scheme.
