UP Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana 2021

UP Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana was launched by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on 1 March 2019. Through this scheme, health insurance cover of up to ₹ 500000 is provided to the citizens of the state. Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana was Started by the Central Government. 

In which it was decided to provide health insurance to the citizens covered under SECC 2011. In this situation, there were many such citizens whose names were not included in SECC 2011. In such a situation, the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana could not be provided to all these citizens. For all such citizens, the Uttar Pradesh government has started the UP Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana.

• Through this scheme, all those families have been covered who cannot get the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. About 10 crore families are being benefited through this scheme.
• All those families who have applied under this scheme can get their treatment free of cost through government and private empaneled hospitals.
• The entire expenditure on this scheme will be borne by the state government. The golden card will be provided by the government to provide the benefits of this scheme. After receiving the Golden Card, the eligible family will have to pay an amount of ₹ 30.

40 lakh Antyodaya card holders will be included

It has also been decided by the Uttar Pradesh government to cover 40 lakh Antyodaya card holder families under the UP Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana. Antyodaya families after joining under this scheme will be able to get free treatment up to ₹ 500000 annually in private and government hospitals. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held on 21 July 2021.

This meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In which, cabinet minister and state government spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh were involved. Now 40 lakh Antyodaya cardholders who were deprived of Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana will also be provided the benefit of this scheme.

A budget of Rs 102 crore has been announced by the government for the implementation of this scheme. If additional funds are required for the operation of this scheme, it will be arranged through a supplementary budget.

The main objective of UP Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana is to provide health insurance to those citizens of the state who have been deprived of getting health insurance under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Under this scheme, health up to ₹ 500000 will be provided to the citizens of the state.

Through which the citizens of the state will be able to get their treatment done free of cost in an empaneled government or private hospital. Now the citizens of the state will be able to get their treatment done on time through this scheme and they will not even need to arrange money for getting their treatment.
